Date and Walnut Bread


 
 

Fancy something tasty for morning tea?
 
225g chopped dates

50 walnuts

325ml water

1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

500g wholewheat flour

30g margarine (or coconut oil)

225g coconut sugar or other unrefined shugar

 

Heat the oven to 170C. Bring the dates, bicarbonate of soda and water to the boil in a pan.

Combine the remaining ingredients, then add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients. Pour into a greased loaf tin, and bake for 60 minutes.

Allow to cook on a wire rack before serving.
